The potential to decentralize energy generation and waste management at the source of organic waste production through the adoption of micro-scale anaerobic digestion.

Onsite micro-scale anaerobic digestion’s potential to close the food supply chain loop by reducing energy losses emitted to the environment and minimising the overall carbon footprint of food production; moving towards eco-effectiveness.

Results from a recent survey suggest ecological modernisation tendencies towards organic waste management amongst establishments in both private and public sectors; an organisational theory associated with green supply chain management and a closed loop system outlook.
